First Annual Black Hills Mud Run at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Combine trail running and challenging obstacles with food, music and tons of mud and you’ve got the recipe for one of the most exhilarating adventure weekends in the Black Hills. The first annual Black Hills Mud Run takes over the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground on June 1, 2013.

Whether you're a cutthroat competitor or a weekend-warrior thrill-seeker, mud runs are drawing thousands of competitors of all skill levels at similar events across the country, and the Black Hills Mud Run is the area’s first major entry into this fast-growing mishmash of sports, entertainment and public service.

Run for Fun as an Individual

The Black Hills Mud Run is specifically designed to be not only challenging, but FUN.  Individuals may sign up to run starting at 9:30am. Spectators are welcome, so be sure to bring your friends and family to cheer you on and take lots of pictures.

Make it a Team Event!

Get a group of friends, family or co-workers together and make it the experience of a lifetime!  Teams of 5 or more will be running in the team category and get a $5 discount per entry.

Before the first splat of mud is on the course, you'll have a chance at the best finish times of the day. Cash prizes to the top finishers!
